The companies’ offering was a medical device which used ultrasound to better guide needles within the body. The company was also involved in attracting investor interest and was to attend several funding and investment events. As a result the homepage relayed key information quickly as well as presenting the CEO’s elevator pitch presentation video.
The design of the homepage was constructed to rapidly relay information about the medical device and underline the expertise of the company staff. This was achieved using an impactful banner followed by sequential split column layout – plus a large video presentation video. This design would leave the scrolling visitor in no doubt what the company was about, what they offered and showcased their expertise.
The presentation video was the centre piece of the homepage as it was likely to be of significant interest to potential investors. The video also made a welcomed change from having to read or interpret images – plus it imparted substantial personality from the company CEO.
Many of the homepage links and menu items were to interest visitors, so as to encourage them to learn more, and the technology page was a deeper layer of information to do just that. It gets to the specifics of the technology, how it works and its benefits to medical professionals and their patients. This designed in a double column or triple column structure so as to provide small chunks of key information.
The website also demonstrated a great location for the company: Nine Wells Hospital in Dundee. The contact page made this clear with an interactive map and invited visitors to get in touch using a dedicated message form or to send their own email. Social media was also integrated in the banner of the website.
